Scorpyd Silver Ventilator – Fully Reconditioned
Approximately 435 FPS with a 400-Grain Arrow
Base Bow Package: $1,100
The Scorpyd Silver Ventilator is a distinctive version of the crossbow that helped establish Scorpyd’s reputation for high-speed reverse-draw performance. Its long power stroke, excellent balance, and smooth shooting characteristics placed the Ventilator well ahead of much of the crossbow industry when it was introduced.
This Silver Ventilator has been completely rebuilt and updated by Arrow Guru. It is no longer limited to the original Ventilator cam and stock configuration. The bow has been upgraded with new 201-deflection limbs, new Gen 5 cams, a new string, a new cable slide, and the newer fixed, crank-capable stock.
It will shoot approximately 435 FPS with a 400-grain arrow, producing approximately 168 foot-pounds of kinetic energy. That places it in the same performance class as a similarly configured Orion or Aculeus and makes it fully competitive with many premium crossbows being sold today.
The distinctive silver components also make this one of the most recognizable and visually appealing Scorpyd crossbows.
Specifications
  • Approximate speed: 435 FPS with a 400-grain arrow
  • Approximate kinetic energy: 168 foot-pounds
  • Estimated draw weight: Approximately 175 pounds
  • Weight as pictured: 8.2 pounds
  • Cams: New Gen 5 Scorpyd cams
  • Limbs: New 201-deflection limbs
  • Power stroke: Approximately 18½ inches
  • Uncocked axle-to-axle: Approximately 19½ inches
  • String length: 46 inches
  • Cable length: 18 7/8 inches
  • Cam timing: Approximately 3/8 inch
  • Cocking system: Installed Firenock AeroCrank
The 8.2-pound listed weight is the weight of the bow as pictured with the Firenock AeroCrank installed. The AeroCrank adds approximately one pound to the overall weight.
The approximately 175-pound draw weight has not been independently measured. It is an estimate based on this bow having the same 201-deflection limbs, later-generation cam profile, power geometry, string and cable configuration, timing, axle-to-axle measurement, and approximately 435-FPS performance as the Orion Extreme.

Scorpyd Platform History
The Ventilator, Orion, and Aculeus share the same basic Scorpyd reverse-draw power geometry and approximately 18½-inch power stroke. The differences among the models were primarily the cams, stock, stirrup arrangement, trigger system, and other component updates—not a major change in the underlying speed-producing geometry.
The original Ventilator used Gen 3 cams and a folding stock. This Silver Ventilator has had the original folding stock replaced with the later fixed stock that accepts a crank system. It retains the Ventilator’s earlier two-screw stirrup arrangement, while the Orion used a three-screw stirrup.
From a speed-producing standpoint, the critical items are:
  • Limb deflection
  • Cam profile
  • String and cable lengths
  • Cam timing
  • Uncocked axle-to-axle measurement
  • Arrow weight
This Silver Ventilator is equipped with Gen 5 cams. In Arrow Guru’s experience, the Gen 5 through Gen 7 cams share the same basic speed-producing cam shape and provide essentially the same performance when installed in the same configuration.
With 201-deflection limbs, Gen 5 cams, a 46-inch string, 18 7/8 inch cables, approximately ?-inch cam timing, and an uncocked axle-to-axle measurement of approximately 19½ inches, this Ventilator performs essentially the same as a similarly configured Orion or Aculeus.
The Aculeus’s primary functional advancement was its later Sear-Loc trigger and preventive anti-dry-fire system. It was an improvement in trigger and safety operation rather than an increase in the capability of the basic power platform.
The more substantial Scorpyd platform changes came later with the Nemesis and Tremor. The Deathstalker primarily improved weight and compactness rather than speed.
This is a previously owned and fully reconditioned crossbow. Minor cosmetic marks consistent with normal use may be present. Please review the photographs for its exact cosmetic condition.
